Reimbursement & documentation
Build the access plan before you submit the paperwork.
We structure quotes, photos, product details, and invoices so families have a cleaner packet for SF MRA, Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, VA, and plan administrators.
Documentation-ready projects
A good packet makes the project easier to approve.
When a client plans to submit paperwork to SF MRA, SFHP, Medicare Advantage, or a VA program, the install package should be simple to review: clear photos, defined scope, product details, installation need, and itemized costs.
What this means: We accept SFMRA and other reimbursement-related documentation and payments for eligible expenses. We do not guarantee that any plan, program, or administrator will approve or reimburse a specific project. Coverage decisions are made by the plan or program, not by GoldenGate Mobility & Access.
Funding paths worth checking early
The four routes below come up most often for stair lifts, ramps, and related accessibility work in San Francisco. Each has different eligibility rules, documentation standards, and reimbursement timing.
SF MRA (SF City Option)
Employer-funded reimbursement account dollars that may be usable for qualifying residence modifications, including certain ramps and lift-related accessibility expenses.
See the SF MRA checklistMedi-Cal Community Supports
A potential route for eligible Medi-Cal members who need home modifications or environmental accessibility adaptations to remain safely in the community.
See the Medi-Cal checklistMedicare Advantage
Some plans may include home modification benefits, but coverage varies by plan design. Start with the Evidence of Coverage and written plan confirmation.
See the Medicare Advantage checklistVA HISA
A strong fit for some medically necessary structural alterations such as ramps or bathroom access, but not every lift category qualifies.

Itemized quotes
Equipment, labor, permits, inspections, warranty, and removal terms separated cleanly so the scope is easier to review.
Install-area photos
Photos of the unimproved area before installation, showing the access barrier and the conditions the equipment is meant to address.
Compliant invoices
Receipts and invoices organized with provider name, service description, dates, and amounts so the claim trail is easier to follow.
Honest limits. We can make the paperwork stronger and easier to understand. We cannot confirm whether your plan will pay, what your SF MRA balance is, or whether a VA prescription will be approved. Those answers come from the plan, administrator, or clinician.
Bring us in before purchase.
Most reimbursement paths are stronger when scope, medical necessity, and authorization are aligned before equipment is ordered or installed.
